Last Minute Protest Against Buying SEGAS House for Academy School

I have posted a petition on the Croydon Council website calling for it not to go ahead with buying SEGAS House for an Academy School because of its inappropriateness as a location for school. It has taken a few days to go live because of the Council’s approval system. The epetition can be seen and signed at https://secure.croydon.gov.uk/petition/token/Aa20VxEendG7Bjm3nRAufNo. Although the Cabinet approved the principle on Monday 14 July and the Council the following day, the Young People and Children’s Scrutiny Sub-committee is reviewing tomorrow (Tuesday 22 July). I have asked its members to consider advising that the decision not be acted upon and a set of criteria for Council approval of Academy and Free school sites.
