Yoruba Village Square

Yoruba Village Square is a cultural initiative by Dayo who was inspired by historian Robin Walker to find out about the history of culture of the Yoruba of West Africa of which he is a member. Famous people of Yoruba oriigin include: Daley Thompson, John Fashenu, Seal, Fela Kuti, and  Wole Soyinka. Dayo tells me that Fela and Wole were cousins and that Fela’s maternal grand father was the son of a returned slave. For some of my Black History  readers Henry Macaculey was Yoruba..

Everyone is welcome to the monthly event
