Croydon Heritage Festival Stall Day Saturday 20 June

I will be running a joint stall for

Croydon Radical History Network

History & Social Action Publications

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Network

as part of the Croydon Heritage Festival launch this Saturday (20 June)

11am – 5.30pm – North End

As well as stalls there will be family orientated performances,  drama and art, local craft and food stalls,  carnival drums, Caribbean Calypso, modern pop, RnB songs and arrangements of classical music on steel pans, choir pieces from around the world as well as jazz, brass and neo-soul performances.

Since moving to Norbury in July 2011 I have been active on local economy issues with Croydon TUC and Croydon Assembly, and am a member of the latter's Environment Forum. I retired in 2012 having worked in the community/voluntary sector and on heritage projects. My history interests include labour movement, mutuality, Black British, slavery & abolition, Edwardian roller skating and the social and political use of music and song. I have a particular interest in the histories of Battersea and Wandsworth, Croydon and Lambeth. I have a publishing imprint History & Social Action Publications.
