My plea for an end the destructive toxicity of attacks on individuals involved with the Consortium has been well received.

Friday  17 July. 7.30pm. Comedy Night for Stop the Incinerator Campaign

The Clubhouse, AFC Croydon Athletic, Mayfield Stadium, off Mayfield Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 6DN.  You can buy tickets online at or for only £6.60 in advance which includes a booking fee.  Meanwhile as Viridor announces that it will soon start building the incinerator, Sutton’s Lib Dem rebel Councillor Nick Mattey is opening up a new front of opposition, presenting a 500+ signature petition at the Council meeting on 13 July seeking a full public enquiry into the award of the incinerator contract to Viridor, and asking questions about Viridor Landfill Credits and why so much of the £4.3m has gone to causes so far away from the landfill in Beddington (such as the £1m donation to a church in Kingston).

Thursday 23 July.  6-8.30pm. Funding for Broad Green

Croydon Voluntary Action is working with local residents in a specified area of Broad Green on producing a plan for the community, to draw in Big Lottery funding for the area. If you live or work in Broad Green, you can have a say on what the funding should focus on by contacting
