Final chance to influence Fairness Commission

Although the date for final submission of comments on the Croydon Opportunity & Fairness Commission was 30 November, submissions sent in by the end of the week will still be accepted.

Various submissions address the hope that the Commission’s final report will deal with a number of gaps relating to arts and culture, the local economy, housing, health and well-being,  environmental issues, and Council governance, and further work to better explain the nature of community and the community and voluntary sector, the role of citizens action on issues others than just London Living Wage.

Since moving to Norbury in July 2011 I have been active on local economy issues with Croydon TUC and Croydon Assembly, and am a member of the latter's Environment Forum. My history interests include labour movement, mutuality, Black British, slavery & abolition, Edwardian roller skating and the social and political use of music and song.
