Launch Of Liberation Movement Fight-back Against Hatred 2 November

Tomorrow sees the launch meeting of the new Liberation Movement set up to fight-back against anti-Black racism, islamaphobia, anti-semitism and other forms of hatred.

Racism and inequality have never been starker in Britain today. The government’s hostile environment scapegoats migrants, refugees and Muslims and emboldens the far right. From the Grenfell Tower fire, Windrush scandal to the Covid-19 pandemic, we see a heavier impact on people of colour.’

The meeting will be chaired by Councillor Hassan Ahmed and Deborah Hobson who are co-chairs of the national organisation Grassroots Black Left.

Marc Wadsworth

Croydon based anti-racist activist and journalist Marc Wadsworth has been a key person to building the alliance to set up the Liberation Movement.  He is available to give talks on his book about Shapurji Saklatvala, Battersea’s Indian MP 1922 and 1924-29.

My history interests include labour, radical and suffrage movements, mutuality, Black British, slavery & abolition, Edwardian roller skating and the social and political use of music and song. I have a particular interest in the histories of Battersea and Wandsworth, Croydon and Lambeth. I have a publishing imprint History & Social Action Publications.
